RESUSCITATION FOR CHILDREN
'The help you provide may save a life'
 
This course provides primary school aged children with the knowledge and skills to potentially save a life in the event of cardiac or respiratory arrest. The course covers both adult and child conditions.
 
Course duration: 3 hours (can be broken into sessions if required)  
 
Course objective: To develope the ability to provide emergency resuscitation in the
                           event of cardiac arrest. This includes calling for help, responding
                           to the situation, casualty assessment, decision making and basic
                           life support functions in adults, children and infants.

                              *Infection control                             *Chain of survival
                              *DRABCD action plan                       *Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
                              *Paediatric/Special situations          *Scenario based prectical CPR
                              *Intro to defibrillation (AED/PAD)  
 
Prerequisite: Nil
 
Certification: Successful participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (valid 1yr)
