Apply first aid is a simple yet comprehensive course dealing with everyday emergencies. This is the minimum qualification required under WH&S Legislation for first aid personal in the workplace.
 
Course duration: 1 day (7.5hr) flexible learning or 2 day (15hr) 
 
Course objective: To develope the competence and confidence to provide emergency
                           first aid incl. calling for help, responding to emergencies, causalty
                           assessment and basic life support functions. The course covers
                           both adult and child conditions.
 
Course content: *Safety and legislation               *Roles and responsibilities
                              *Infection control                             *Chain of survival
                              *DRABCD action plan                       *Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
                              *Paediatric/Special situations          *Scenario based prectical CPR
                              *Intro to defibrillation (AED/PAD)    *Respiratory injuries & illnessess
                              *Bleeding/specific injuries                *Circulatory/Cardiac conditions
                              *Heat/Cold injuries & illnessess       *Conditions effecting consciousness
                              *Fractures & sports injuries             *Spinal & back injuries
                              *Poisons, bites and stings               *Diabetic emergencies
 
Certification: Successful participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (valid 3yrs).
                       Please note: To maintain currency, CPR refrsher training must be completed annually.
